In 1898 Plant Rubber & Asbestos Co. was founded in San Francisco California, which in 1946 changed its name to Sacomo Mfg. Co. In May 1967 Sacomo, together with Ing. Juan Jose Mayer Goyenechea, founded EMPAK MEX, S.A. In November 1979, Parker Hannifin and Juan A. Mayer Goyenechea agreed to create the Parker Gaskets and Packaging Division, the Spirotallic Gaskets division. Spirotallic has been present in North America since 1888.
